Welcome to the internet home of the Gateway Society of Hazardous Material Managers (GSHMM)! We are one of the premier local chapters of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP), formerly known as the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM). We were recently awarded the ACHMM Chapter of the Year and Newsletter of the Year awards. We want to serve everyone who has taken, or plans on taking, the necessary steps to become a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). We also greatly appreciate the help and support our affiliate members provide us. We are dedicated to advancing the CHMM recognition and professional career development.
By visiting our site you have taken the first step to participating in Certified Hazardous Material Mangers (CHMM) activities through the Gateway Society of Hazardous Materials Managers. Our chapter currently has more than one hundred and seventy active Environmental, Health, and Safety professional members who work in State and Local Government, Private Business, and Consulting Services.
There are a number of ways you can join in on the activities with members of GSHMM. We invite you to join us at our monthly meetings for guest speaker presentations on timely EH&S topics. These monthly meetings also provide you an opportunity to network with fellow CHMM professionals. You could join members from all over the country at the National Conference in Minneapolis, MN in September. Or, you could join us for the National Leadership Conference that will be held in St. Louis in April 2009.
With this premiere event coming to St. Louis there will be ample opportunity to volunteer and get to know other members of our organization better. We also invite you to participate with us in board activities by volunteering to serve on the Board of Directors or one of our committees. Feel free to speak to me or any other board member about ways to get more involved.
